Welcome to the website of the Integrated Project on New Modes of Governance,
co-ordinated by the European University Institute and its Robert Schuman
Centre for Advanced Studies.
The pan-European Project was funded by the European Union under the Sixth Framework Programme from 2004 up to 2008. It examined the transformation of governance in and beyond Europe by mapping, evaluating and analysing the emergence, execution, and evolution of 'New Modes of Governance'. NEWGOV included 24 projects and 2 transversal task forces and had more than 50 participating researchers from some 35 institutions in western and eastern Europe. NEWGOV was closely linked to the Network of Excellence CONNEX - Connecting
Excellence on European Governance. Independent scientific experts concluded that NEWGOV "qualifies as an excellent project".
This website provides you with topical information concerning the concluded project. In particular, you will find publications, reports, articles and working papers of the Research Consortium. In addition, links to other information sources relating to the project's research fields are provided.
