Biographical Note:
Bob Hancké is Reader in European Political Economy in the European Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science. He held positions at the European University Institute in Florence, the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin, the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme in Nantes, the J.F. Kennedy School and Center for European Studies at Harvard University, and as a research student at MIT.

His research interests are the political economy of advanced capitalist societies, the relation between institutions and macro-economic policy, the evolution of labour relations under EMU, and emerging forms of democratic capitalism in Central and Eastern Europe.

Recent publications include: Large Firms and Institutional Change (Oxford University Press 2002), ‘Revisiting the French model: Coordination and restructuring in French industry’ (in) Varieties of Capitalism¸ edited by Peter Hall and David Soskice (Oxford University Press 2001). His work appeared in 'Work and Occupations', 'European Political Economy Review', 'International Journal of Urban and Regional Research', 'Industry and Innovation', 'Politics and Society', 'Organization Studies', 'European Journal of Industrial Relations', and the 'British Journal of Industrial Relations'.
