Consortium Conference 2006

After almost two years of research, the ‘New Modes of Governance’ project convened its second annual Consortium Conference, 22 and 23 June 2006, at Montecatini Terme / Italy, close to Florence.

The conference was organised around a selection of focused questions dealing with the Emergence, Effectiveness, Execution, and Evolution of New Modes of Governance. The aim was to facilitate systematic comparative discussions and to identify more transversal issues between the clusters. Apart from workshops of the four project clusters these questions were discussed in four thematic panels. During the final session of this conference, NEWGOV explored the ‘practical relevance’ of the project and its results. It addressed the question to which extent and how can the European institutions and other stakeholders implement the results of this research project.
