Coordinator and Scientific Director

The European University Institute serves as coordinator of the NEWGOV project. Its headquarters is located in the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, since September 2006 directed by Stefano Bartolini, successor to Helen Wallace. The director of the RSCAS also serves as chairperson of the Steering Committee and of the General Assembly. In addition, the director represents NEWGOV on the Executive Board of the CONNEX Network of Excellence.

Since January 2006, the overall Scientific Director of NEWGOV is Adrienne Héritier, taking over from the first Scientific Director Martin Rhodes, of the EUI's Department of Political and Social Sciences. She is delegated by the co-ordinator to take responsibility for scientific issues and associated organisational and management tasks related to the Consortium as a whole. She works closely with the Steering Committee, the Monitoring Group and the Director of the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies to ensure the effective management of the project. The coordinator is also the single point of contact between the European Commission and the NEWGOV Consortium.

For the management of the project she is supported by the NEWGOV Project Manager, Ingo Linsenmann, and other departments of the EUI and the RSCAS, for example the Academic Service of the EUI, the administrative team of the RSCAS; the publications and web unit of the RSCAS; and the Conference Unit of the RSCAS where relevant for organising Consortium workshops and seminars.
